The Farnley Academy Asquith Building project involved completely removing the UPVC external façade of the Asquith building, which dates back to the 1970's, and replacing it with new insulated timber frame walls with a STO render finish.
The ground floor brick faced cavity walls were raised, new aluminium double glazed curtain walling, windows and doors were installed throughout along with a complete single ply membrane re-roof.
The building now looks modern and benefits significantly from it's vastly improved thermal properties, air tightness & weather tightness.

Construction of the new performing arts building included formation of the steel framed hall, ancillary rooms, new plant room and new school reception link building. The project also involved remodelling the internal areas of the existing building to form new student toilets, meeting rooms and offices.

Phase 1 included for the removal of the asbestos to the walls and ceilings of the 3-storey MET block, construction of new walls and layout alterations, full re-wire to enable a fire alarm installation to the block and installation of all new finishes, all previously unable to be undertaken due to the presence of asbestos.
